Kanchana Bangalore

If you know where Total Mall is, then we aren't too hard to find. We are tucked away in R V Block, over on 2A Cross off the 12th Main Road. Konena Agrahara is a busy area but our little corner is a bit tucked back. Kanchana Bangalore is a small operation. We open up around ten in the morning and usually stay until the sun goes down. The shop isn't very big, so we have to be careful with how we stack things. Sometimes it feels like we are running out of space. We get regular people from the houses nearby who stop in to see what's new. It’s nice because you get to know names and faces after a while. We aren't doing anything fancy here. Most days involve checking what came in and putting it away. The fan in the back makes a bit of a clicking sound but we don't really notice it anymore. When the rainy season starts, we have to keep the door mostly shut so the damp doesn't get in. We don't have a website or anything like that, people just walk in. It’s a quiet way to earn a living. We just focus on the day-to-day tasks and try to keep things tidy for whoever comes in next. Some days it is just me here and I listen to the radio to keep company. It is a simple place for simple people.
