Kamat Bugle Rock

Kamat Bugle Rock is located right in Basavanagudi, on the corner of Bull Temple Road and 5th Main Road. Most people know this area because of the park and the temple nearby. We’ve been serving food here for quite a long time. The building has that old Bangalore feel to it, with plenty of space but it’s always showing its age in some spots. We get a lot of people coming in after their morning walks or families out for an evening meal. The kitchen is always a busy place, with a lot of steam and noise. We focus on the kind of meals that people around here grew up eating. It’s not about being fancy or having a modern look. The chairs are wooden and sometimes they creak when you sit down. We have a lot of staff who have been with us since the beginning, so they know the menu by heart. Sometimes the crowd gets so big on Sunday mornings that people have to wait outside on the pavement. We try to clear the tables fast so everyone gets a seat. It’s a bit of a routine, really. You see the same elders coming in for their coffee every day. We just keep things running as they always have been. Basavanagudi is a quiet neighborhood, and we like being part of that daily rhythm on Bull Temple Road. We are just here doing our thing every single day.
