Jyothi Mirror Pvt Ltd is located right in the thick of things at 11 2 BVK Iyengar Road. If you know this part of town, you know R T Street and 15th Cross are always packed with people and carts. We are up on the 3rd floor, which is a bit of a climb, but it gets us away from the worst of the street noise. Dealing with mirrors means we have to be very careful all the time. One wrong move and something expensive breaks into a hundred pieces. The office and storage area are filled with glass of all sizes, and you have to watch where you step. We spend a lot of time cutting, packing, and making sure everything is wrapped up tight for transport. It is a busy atmosphere with a lot of dust and the sound of glass being handled. The building itself is older, and the stairs are narrow, which makes moving big mirrors a real challenge for us. We’ve been on BVK Iyengar Road for a long time and have seen the neighborhood change, but the crowds stay the same. Most of our work is just filling orders and chatting with the regulars who come up to the 3rd floor. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the crates and sheets of glass leaned up against the walls. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
