Jeevika General Store

Our store is at 2-52-41 on Tavarekere Main Road, inside the Ramappa Layout. It’s a quiet residential neighborhood for the most part. We sell the basic things that people realize they forgot to buy at the big supermarket. The shop is small and the aisles are narrow. We have a lot of plastic jars filled with different things sitting on the counter. The overhead light has a bit of a flicker that we haven’t gotten around to fixing yet. Most of our customers are people who live just a few houses away. We hear about their kids and their jobs while we’re bagging their items. It’s a slow pace of life here compared to the main city. We open up in the morning and stay until the streetlights come on. Sometimes the cat from next door comes in and sits near the door. We don't have a big staff, just family helping out when they can. The shelves are a bit mismatched because we added them one by one as we needed more space. It’s just a simple general store in Tavarekere. We don't try to be anything else. It’s enough to keep us busy and connected to the people around here. We just take things one day at a time. The routine is comfortable and we know everyone who walks through the door.
