You can find us over at 19 Abbas Cottage, which is located on 5th A Cross in the Bhoopasandra Extension area of Bangalore. It’s an older building, and it has that classic look that many of the houses in this part of the city used to have before all the big glass buildings went up. Working out of a cottage makes the day feel a bit different than being in a high-rise. We have rooms converted into work areas, and the walls are thick, so it stays relatively cool even when the sun is out. The cross streets here can be a bit confusing for delivery drivers, but we are used to giving directions over the phone. There is a bit of a garden area out front, though it’s mostly just some overgrown shrubs and a place to park a few scooters. We’ve been in this spot for a while now, and we know the neighbors pretty well. The morning starts with the sound of the milk man and the general hum of the extension waking up. Inside, we just have our basic equipment and a few chairs for when someone visits. It isn’t a place for showing off. We focus on getting through the pile of work we have each morning. Sometimes the monkeys from the trees nearby come onto the roof and make a lot of noise, which is just part of living in this part of Bangalore.
