Intel

This is a bit of a different setup since we are operating out of Room No 56 in the UVCE Boys Hostel at the City Campus in Bangalore. The name we use is Intel, though it’s obviously a very small-scale operation here at the hostel. It’s mostly students and recent grads trying to put their skills to use. The room is small and usually smells a bit like old books and instant noodles, but it works for what we need. We don't have a big corporate office or fancy furniture. Most of our work happens on laptops perched on small desks or even on the beds sometimes. We started this because we wanted to gain experience and help out with technical needs while still being close to the campus. It’s a very local, very practical way of doing things. We don't have a marketing department or a sales team. We just do the work that comes our way and try to learn as we go. It’s often noisy in the hallways with other students around, but we’ve learned to focus despite the distractions. Being in the heart of Bangalore's city campus gives us a lot of energy. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, we just want to do decent work and get our degree at the same time. We've been here for a couple of terms now and the hostel staff is used to seeing us work late.
