Insilica

Insilica is based in Pune, over in the Nirmal Park area of Padmavati. The address is 3B2/11, which is in Chavan Nagar. It’s a decent area, fairly calm most of the time compared to the city center. We operate out of a space that feels more like an apartment than a high-tech lab, even though the name sounds a bit technical. There are computers everywhere and sometimes we have to move boxes out of the way just to find a place to sit. It’s a bit of a squeeze when everyone is in at the same time. We don't have a front desk or a receptionist to greet people. Usually, you just walk in and find one of us hunched over a keyboard. The neighborhood is nice for a walk during lunch, and there are some good small shops nearby for snacks. We spend a lot of time looking at data and trying to figure out technical problems that crop up. It is the kind of work that requires a lot of quiet, which we mostly get here in Chavan Nagar. The walls are decorated with a few old calendars and maybe a chart or two. It isn't a place built for showing off to visitors. It’s just where we come to do our jobs every day and then head home. We like the simplicity of the setup and the fact that we can just focus on the work.
