We are over on Diagonal Road in Vvpuram. Our office is on the first floor, right behind the Bank of India. It’s a good landmark to give people when they are trying to find us. Number 83 is the building. The stairs are a bit narrow, so you have to be careful coming up. We have been in this spot for several years now. It’s a consultancy, so there is a lot of talking and a lot of sitting. We have a few desks and some old filing cabinets that are starting to creak. The fans overhead make a clicking sound that we don't even notice anymore. I usually start the day by sorting through the mail and checking the calendar. People come in to ask for advice on various things. We aren't the type to wear suits every day. Most of us just wear regular shirts and trousers. It feels more comfortable that way. The neighborhood is full of shops and little eateries. We usually go out for tiffin around one o'clock. Sometimes the traffic on Diagonal Road gets backed up, and the horns are quite loud. But inside the office, it’s mostly just the sound of typing and people chatting quietly. We don't have a mission statement on the wall. We just try to give sensible answers to the people who pay for our time. It’s a modest living.
