Our office is up on the 5th floor of Ing Vysys House. You probably know how Brigade Road gets, especially on the weekends or during the evenings. It’s always packed with people and cars. Being at number 22 means we are right in the thick of all that action. Ing Vysys Life Insurance Co Pvt Ltd is just one of the many offices in this tall building. The elevator is usually busy or slow, so some of us just take the stairs if we’re feeling up to the exercise. Five floors is a lot to climb though. From up here, you can see the street below, even if the windows are a bit dusty from the city air. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at stacks of papers. It’s a standard setup with rows of desks and chairs. Nothing too modern or fancy. We’ve been at this spot for a long time. Brigade Road is handy because there’s always somewhere to grab a coffee or some quick food during lunch. It’s loud outside but once you get inside the building, it’s mostly just the sound of people talking and keyboards clicking away. We keep our files organized as best as we can in the cabinets. It’s a busy place to work but we are all used to the fast pace. Most of us live quite far away so the commute is a bit long. But that’s just life when you work in this part of the city.
