Our office is at 100 Pampamahakavi Road, right across from the Lalbagh West Gate. It is a really nice spot because we can see the greenery of the park from our building. Students come here quite often because they are looking to go abroad for their studies. We have a lot of books about universities and folders full of application forms. The road outside is usually packed with traffic, especially on weekends when people visit the gardens. Inside, it is a bit quieter. We have a few small rooms where we sit down with students and their parents to go over paperwork. There are posters of different countries on the walls, and the shelves are crowded with files. We spend a lot of time checking dates and making sure all the documents are signed in the right places. It is a lot of detail work. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background to drown out the car horns from the street. The staff is small, and we have been working together for a few years. We drink a lot of tea while we go through the piles of mail. It is a steady kind of work. We aren't a big fancy institution, just a group of people helping others figure out their school plans in a simple office near the park. It feels good to see the students get their paperwork sorted.
