We are tucked away on the second floor of the Sivaramaiah Building. It’s a bit of a maze to find us behind Chandanabaker on Channasandra Main Road. Being in the Kadogudi area means we deal with a lot of traffic and the usual Bangalore noise. India Cements Pvt Ltd has this small setup here to handle the local side of things. It’s not a big corporate glass building. It’s just an office with some old desks and a slow lift that we usually avoid. We spend our time talking to contractors and trying to keep the deliveries on track despite the road work outside. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually the highlight of the morning. We have a lot of files piled up on the corners of the tables. It’s a bit messy, but we know where everything is. You can hear the bikes and trucks on the main road all day long. Most people who come here are looking for the back entrance. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a big sign. It’s just us working through the lists and answering the landline. Sometimes the internet is slow, and we end up just chatting about the cricket scores. It’s a basic operation. We do what we can to keep the cement moving to the sites around the city.
