Up here at 60 Xavier Layout in Ashok Nagar, things feel a bit different than the busier parts of Bangalore. It’s a bit more of a neighborhood feel, even though we’re right in the middle of everything. Our office is a place where we spend most of our daylight hours. We’ve got a mix of young staff and some who have been doing this forever. The desks are a bit cluttered with folders and post-it notes, which is just how we work. People come to us when they are thinking about studying in another country. We don’t have a script we follow; we just listen to what they need and tell them what we know. The chairs in the waiting area are a bit old, but they’re comfortable enough. Sometimes the Bangalore rain makes everything a bit messy, but we keep the office going. We aren't trying to be a big, slick corporation. We’re just a team in Ashok Nagar helping people figure out their next moves. There’s a lot of typing and the sound of the printer going off throughout the day. We share snacks in the afternoon and talk about the latest student success. It’s simple work, but it matters to the families who walk through the door. We’re just here on Xavier Layout, doing what we do every day without much fuss. We usually close up once the last person's questions are answered, even if it's a bit late.
