We’ve been based out of the Centenary Building for quite a bit now. Our office is on the 6th floor, so we get a decent view of Mahathma Gandhi Road when the weather is clear. Being at number 28 means we are right in the thick of things. Dealing with life insurance at I N G Visya Life Insurance Company Limited involves a lot of daily paperwork and phone calls. It’s a busy place. Most of us have been working here for years and we know the routine inside out. People come in to ask about their policies or just to drop off documents. The traffic on MG Road is usually a nightmare during rush hour, so most of us try to get in early. It’s just a standard office really. We have our desks, the coffee machine that breaks sometimes, and stacks of files. It’s not a glamorous job but it is steady. We handle the various aspects of life insurance coverage and try to get the forms processed without too much delay. The building itself is quite old but it’s sturdy. If you are looking for us, just head up to the sixth floor. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background while we work through the stacks of claims. It feels like a second home after so much time. Sometimes the afternoon sun hits the windows just right and it gets a bit warm. We just keep at it, day in and day out.
