Hunan New Bel Road

You can find us at New BEL Road 10. It’s a lively part of the neighborhood. Hunan has been here for a bit, and we’ve seen the street change quite a bit over the years. We aren't a huge corporate chain or anything like that. It’s just a kitchen and some tables where people can eat. We spend a lot of time prepping vegetables and keeping the heat going in the back. The noise from the road usually leaks in a bit, but nobody seems to mind. It’s just part of the atmosphere here. We don't have any polished marketing slogans. We just show up and cook. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when several groups come in at once, but we manage. The staff is mostly local people who live not too far away. We like the fact that we aren't in a big mall. Being on the street level means we see everything that happens outside. We have some plants by the door that we try to keep alive, though the dust from the road makes it hard. It’s an honest living. We just want to make sure the food is ready and the place is open when people are hungry. There isn't much more to it than that. New BEL Road is a good place to be, and we’re happy to have our spot here. We keep it simple.
