Hotel Sunitha

Hotel Sunitha is at Gandhi Nagar 56, right in the middle of all the chaos of the city center. If you know this area, you know how busy the roads get with all the buses and people walking everywhere. We’ve been here for years, and the building shows its age a little bit, but it’s sturdy. We don't have any fancy signs or anything. People just know the name. The kitchen starts working long before the sun comes up because people traveling from the bus stand want breakfast early. We serve simple meals on steel plates. The tables are topped with granite and they’ve seen a lot of use over the seasons. It gets very loud during the lunch hour. You can hear the servers shouting the orders to the kitchen and the sound of spoons hitting the plates. We don't have a lot of space, so sometimes you have to share a table with a stranger. That’s just how it works here. We don't do anything special, just the regular rice and curry and tiffin items. The fans on the ceiling keep the air moving, but it still gets warm when the place is full. My uncle used to run the cash counter, and now I sit there most days. We see a lot of different people coming through Gandhi Nagar, from office workers to travelers just passing through for a day. We keep it simple and just do our work every day without any big fuss or changes.
