Homely Delight Caterers

Koramangala 4th B Block is where we spend most of our time these days. Homely Delight Caterers started out pretty small, and honestly, it still feels that way even when we have a lot of orders to get through. The kitchen gets really hot in the afternoons, especially when all the burners are going at once and we’re trying to pack up boxes for a lunch delivery. You can usually smell what we’re cooking from halfway down the street. It’s a busy part of town, so getting the delivery vans in and out can be a real headache with the parking situation around here. We spend a lot of time chopping vegetables and making sure the rice is just right. There are usually about four or five of us in the back, bumping into each other and trying to keep everything organized. It’s not a quiet place to work. There’s always the sound of metal spoons hitting pots or someone shouting about where the extra salt is kept. We do a lot of traditional dishes that take a long time to simmer on the stove. Sometimes things get a bit chaotic when three orders come in at the same time, but we just keep moving and get it done. Most of our day is spent cleaning up, doing prep work, and then more cleaning. We don't have a big fancy office, just a small space to take calls and write down menus. It’s hard work, but it's what we do for a living.
