Hemachandra Rai

My office is up on the second floor of the Swastic Manandi building. The address is 41402 Palace Road. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens sometimes. I’m Hemachandra Rai and I’ve been set up here for a good while now. Palace Road is always humming with people and cars. Inside my space, it’s mostly just shelves and a few chairs for whoever stops by. It isn't a fancy place with modern furniture or anything like that. I have my way of organizing things that might look like a mess to someone else, but I know where everything is. Usually, I'm here from morning until late evening. You’ll find me buried under some files or on the phone. The building is quite well-known in this part of town, so most people don't have trouble finding me. Sometimes the hallway gets a bit dark when the bulbs go out, but my office is bright enough. I handle my work day by day. There isn't a secretary or a big lobby to wait in. You just come up to the second floor and find my door. I like the view of the street from the window, even if it's just watching the rain or the traffic jams. It’s just a plain, honest workspace where I get things done. I have some old plants by the window that I forget to water, but they seem to survive anyway. I appreciate the quiet when the street finally calms down at night.
