To find us, you have to go into the 3rd Cross, which is a narrow lane that doesn't see much sun because the buildings are so close together. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze if two people are walking in opposite directions. The office is in a small building that has been here for decades. We don’t have a big fancy entrance, just a heavy metal door and a small nameplate that’s a bit faded. Inside, it’s mostly just desks pushed against the walls and a lot of old ledgers. The air stays a bit cooler in here because of the narrow streets outside, which is nice in the summer. We are surrounded by other small businesses and shops, so there’s always a lot of chatter and the sound of shutters opening and closing. It’s the kind of place where the mailman knows exactly where to leave the letters even if the address is smudged. We don't have much in the way of staff, just a few of us who have known each other for a long time. The tea lady comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take our only real breaks. It’s a very grounded way to work, without any of the pressure of the big glass office buildings you see in other parts of the city. We just do our thing here.
