Harnam Singh & Sons

We’ve been here in Peenya Industrial Area for a good while now. The workshop is over at A-172, right near Sant Tukaram Paduka Chowk. It’s a busy spot in Deccan Gymkhana, and honestly, it gets pretty loud with all the work going on. My father started this under the name Harnam Singh & Sons, and we just keep it moving. Most days, we’re just busy with the machines and making sure things get done right for the people who stop by. It’s not a fancy place. You’ll probably see grease on our hands if you walk in. The building has some age to it, but it works for what we need. We don't spend much time on the computer or writing things down like this, usually we’re on the floor. It’s a family thing, so there’s always someone around who knows the history of a specific tool or a job we did years ago. Sometimes the traffic around the chowk makes it hard for deliveries to get in, but we manage. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in Bangalore, just a place that stays open and does the work. Some of the guys have been with us since the beginning. We eat lunch together and then get back to the metal. It’s just how things go here at our spot in Peenya. We keep the doors open and try to keep the machines running without too much trouble.
