Green General Stores

If you are walking down Buddha Vihar Road in Cox Town, you’ll find Green General Stores at Shop No.39. We are right opposite New Mayur Bakery, which makes it easy to find us even if you aren't from this part of Bangalore. The shop has been running for a good number of years now. It is a small place but we pack a lot of stuff into the shelves. From biscuits and snacks to basic cleaning supplies, we try to keep the essentials ready for whoever walks in. The neighborhood is quiet during the day but gets lively later on. Sometimes the traffic on the road makes it hard for delivery trucks to park, so we end up carrying boxes ourselves from the main road. It’s hard work but it keeps the shop going. We don't have a website or any fancy ordering system, people just come in and ask for what they want over the counter. Often, neighbors stop by just to say hello while they pick up their milk or eggs. It feels more like a community spot than a big business. The floor is old and the paint might be peeling a bit in the corners, but the goods are fresh. We keep the 560005 area supplied with whatever we can get our hands on. It is just a local shop run by local people who understand what the families around here like to buy for their kitchens.
