Our place is right on 1st Main Road in Seshadripuram, just across from the Srivari Petrol Bunk. You can usually tell where we are because of all the scooters parked on the pavement. It's a busy corner of Bangalore, and the sound of traffic never really stops, even when we’re deep into a lesson. The building isn't anything new or modern, but it works for what we do. We have a few rooms set up with basic desks. Sometimes the rooms get a bit warm in the summer, so we keep the windows open, even if it brings in some noise from the street. Students start showing up around four o'clock, mostly coming from the nearby schools. We don't have a big staff or a fancy office. It’s just us and the books. We spend a lot of time sitting with the kids and going over their notes from the day. If someone is struggling with a topic, we just stay a bit longer until it clicks. There’s no big philosophy behind it; we just know that school can be tough and an extra hour of quiet study helps. The petrol bunk across the way is a good landmark for parents who are dropping their kids off for the first time. It feels like a very normal, local part of the neighborhood. We’ve been here for a while and most people around here know us by now. We just lock the gates once the last class finishes and head home.
