Girish Public School

Girish Public School is sitting at No. 35 on Kaggadasapura Road in Bangalore. This road is always packed with traffic and people going about their business. Our school building is right there in the middle of it all. It’s a tallish building with a small gate that we open up early every morning. The sound of the city is always in the background, but once the kids are inside, we focus on what’s happening in the classrooms. We have the usual desks and chairs, and the hallways are often filled with the sound of students moving from one room to another. It’s not a quiet place, but schools rarely are. We spend a lot of time organizing the books and making sure the schedules are followed. The area around Kaggadasapura is quite residential, so many of our students live just a few streets away. We don’t have a massive field, but we make do with the space we have. The staff room is usually a bit cluttered with notebooks and tea mugs. Every day is pretty much the same routine, which is fine by us. We just want to make sure the school is a decent place for the kids to spend their day while their parents are at work in various parts of the city. It takes a lot of effort to keep everything running on time and the building tidy.
