The school is out on Begur Koppa Road, specifically in the Hullahalli area of Sakalavara. It’s a bit further out from the main city center, which means we have a bit more space around us. The air feels a little different here compared to the crowded parts of Bangalore. Our building is easy to spot along the road. We have a decent-sized area where the school day takes place, with classrooms that get plenty of natural light throughout the morning. Managing a school in this location means we see a lot of students who live in the nearby villages and newer layouts. The road outside can get quite dusty, especially when there’s construction going on or when the trucks go by. We spend our time making sure the school gates are secure and the classrooms are swept out every single evening. It’s a practical place without much in the way of luxury. We have the usual things you’d find in any school—desks that have seen better days and cupboards full of old textbooks and charts. The staff usually brings their own tiffin and we eat together in the small office area when the classes are over. It’s a quiet life for the most part, just following the cycle of the school year. We focus on getting through the syllabus and making sure the day-to-day operations don't run into too many hitches. It’s just how we work here in Sakalavara. The bell rings at the end of the day and we start over.
