Gem Vasthu & Gifts

Our shop, Gem Vasthu & Gifts, is right there at 660 on the 80 Feet BDA Road in Chickpet. If you know where Sri Varu Silks is, we are just opposite that. It’s a busy stretch, and finding parking is a nightmare, but people still find their way to us. Inside, we have a mix of things that are supposed to bring good luck and just regular gift items. There are crystals, small brass statues, and those pyramids people like to put in the corners of their rooms. I’m not saying I know everything about Vasthu, but I’ve picked up a lot over the years from talking to customers and reading the books we sell. The shop feels a bit crowded because I keep adding new things whenever I find something interesting at the wholesale market. We get a lot of people who are moving into new apartments and want something to make the place feel right. It’s not just about the luck, though; some people just like the way the stones look on a shelf. The afternoon sun hits the front window and makes everything sparkle, which is nice. We stay open late because Chickpet never really sleeps until after nine. I usually have my lunch behind the counter between customers. It’s a small business, just me and occasionally my cousin when he’s not busy with his own stuff. We just try to keep things steady and help people find what they’re looking for.
