Gem Public School

Our place, Gem Public School, is located at No.653, Sri Gowri Nilaya. We are on 7th Main Road, right near the 11th Cross in BTM Layout 2nd Stage. It’s a residential area mostly, so the school feels like it belongs to the neighborhood. The building is named Sri Gowri Nilaya, and you can see the name on the front. We have a lot of stairs because the building goes up several floors. Every morning, the street gets a bit crowded with parents and bicycles when everyone is arriving at the same time. We don't have a big corporate lobby. Instead, there is just a small entrance where the watchman sits. The rooms are basic with whiteboards and plenty of windows to let in the light from the 7th Main Road side. We spend a lot of time talking to the neighbors about the noise, but they are used to us by now. It’s a busy life here in BTM. We have to keep track of a lot of things, from the water cans being delivered to the bells ringing on time. The office is small and usually has a stack of registers on the desk. We are just a group of people working together to keep the school running. It isn't always perfect, but we are here every day from early morning until the sun starts to go down. The 11th cross is usually our landmark for people trying to find us.
