Gayan Jyoti Public School

Our school is located at Number 2 on the 4th Cross in the KSRTC Layout. This is in the Chikkalsandra area of Bangalore, which is a bit tucked away from the main Uttarahalli traffic. It is a residential neighborhood, so it feels a little more peaceful compared to the schools on the main roads. The 560061 pin code area has grown a lot, but our little corner remains mostly the same. The building is quite simple and looks like a large house that was converted for school use. We have several classrooms that are usually quite full. There is a small patch of ground at the back where the kids can play during their breaks, though it is not big enough for a real game of cricket. We spend our days teaching the standard subjects and looking after the students. The teachers here have been working together for a long time, so we have a good rhythm going. We don't have any high-tech gadgets, just the usual books and blackboards. Sometimes the stray dogs sleep near our front gate because it is a quiet street. Parents usually drop their kids off on their way to work, and there is a bit of a rush around 8:30 in the morning. After that, the street goes quiet again until the afternoon bell. It is just a regular neighborhood school where we focus on the basic needs of the children who live nearby.
