Garma Garam

The ground floor here at 891/A in Amdupura can get really warm, which I guess makes sense given the name Garma Garam. We are right in Koramangala VI Block, which is always busy with people walking past. Our space isn't very big, so we have to be careful about where we put everything. The stove runs most of the day and you can smell the oil and spices as soon as you step inside. Sometimes the morning delivery is late and we have to scramble to get everything prepped before the lunch crowd starts showing up. It’s mostly just hard work and a lot of standing on your feet. We have a few stools for people to sit, but most just stand around and talk while they eat. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we haven't found the time to close up and do it yet. My brother handles the money and I usually stay near the back. We see the same faces every day, mostly people who work in the nearby offices or live in the buildings around here. It’s a bit chaotic when the rain starts because everyone tries to crowd under the small awning we have out front. We just keep the burners going and try to keep up with the orders as they come in. It is a bit cramped, but we make it work somehow even when it gets busy.
