Gajraj Singh High School

Gajraj Singh High School sits on 8th Cross in B Narayanpura, right off the main Whitefield Road in Krishnarajapuram. It’s a very busy part of town, especially with all the trucks and cars heading toward the IT parks. The school itself is a bit of a sanctuary from all that noise once you get inside the gates. We’ve got the older kids here, mostly high school age, so things are a bit different than a primary school. There’s more focus on exams and staying late for extra help. The building has seen better days, and we’re always fixing a leaky pipe or painting a wall, but it serves its purpose well enough. We have a small courtyard where the students gather for assembly in the mornings. It’s always a bit of a scramble to get everyone in line before the bell rings. The staff room is usually a mess of papers and tea cups, which is how you know we’re actually working. Being near Whitefield Road means we get students from all over this side of Bangalore. Some come by bus and others walk from the nearby residential pockets. We don't have any fancy gadgets or high-tech labs, just blackboards, desks, and teachers who know their subjects. It’s a plain, honest place for kids to finish their schooling and move on to whatever is next for them. We just do our part.
