We run G R Packers & Movers out of a spot at 911 Bommanahalli, which is right near the Apr Kalayan Mantapa. If you know that wedding hall, you know exactly where we are. Our days are mostly spent around cardboard boxes, rolls of tape, and old blankets for wrapping furniture. It’s heavy work and it’s often very sweaty. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading trucks. It’s not always pretty—sometimes boxes get scuffed or we have to figure out how to fit a giant sofa through a tiny doorway. We don't have a fancy office because we’re usually out on the road or in the back of a van. In Bommanahalli, the traffic can be a nightmare, so we have to plan our trips carefully. We aren't a massive company with a fleet of hundreds of trucks. We’re a local crew that knows how to lift heavy things without hurting ourselves. We use a lot of bubble wrap and we try to keep things organized, even when everything feels chaotic during a big move. People come to us when they’re stressed about moving houses, and we just try to get their stuff from one place to another. There’s a lot of physical labor involved, and our hands are usually a bit dirty by the end of the shift. We just keep at it, moving one box at a time and making sure the truck is packed tight so nothing shifts around too much. It is hard work but it's what we do.
