Our place is at Manipal Centre, specifically unit 47, 76/17, over in Sudguntpalya. It’s one of those buildings that everyone knows around here, so it makes it easy for people to find us. We’ve been operating Foods India Co from this spot for some time now. The mornings are usually the busiest because that’s when everything arrives and we have to get organized. It can get a bit cramped inside when there’s a lot of stuff moving around, but we manage to keep things flowing. You can hear the sounds of the city outside all day long, which is just part of being in this part of town. We don’t have any big signs or flashy lights out front, just the name on the door and our address. Most of us here have worked together for years, so we have a rhythm that works. Sometimes the lift in the building is slow, so we end up taking the stairs more than we’d like. It’s a real working environment, not a showroom. We spend most of our time dealing with suppliers and checking on orders. There is always someone making tea in the back, and that’s usually where the best conversations happen. We just focus on getting the food items where they need to go without making a big fuss about it. It’s simple work, but it keeps us occupied from Monday to Saturday.
