Food Bay Restaurant

Over at Shankaranagara Main Market 116, you’ll find Food Bay Restaurant. It’s right in the middle of all the market action, so it’s never really quiet around here. We open early to get everything ready for the lunch rush. There are a lot of people who work in the market who come to us because they want a meal that fills them up without costing too much. Our tables are basic, and we use plain plates, because the focus is really just on the cooking. The kitchen is small, so you can often hear the clinking of pans and the chefs shouting orders to each other. It’s a bit chaotic, but it works. We don’t have a website or any of that stuff. Most people just know we’re here by the smell of the food or by seeing the sign when they are out buying vegetables. Sometimes we run out of the daily special before one o'clock, which can be annoying for some, but we only make so much at a time. We try to keep the place cool with a few fans, but on hot days, it gets pretty warm inside with the stoves going. It’s just a standard restaurant for anyone who is hungry. We’ve been at this spot for a good while and the neighbors are like family to us now.
