Flicks Salon And Spa is on the first floor of building number 898 on 80 Feet Road. We are in the 6th Block of Koramangala, which is a really busy part of Bangalore. If you see the Indian Oil Petrol Pump, you’ll know you’re in the right spot because we are directly opposite it. Being on the first floor is nice because we can look out at all the traffic while we work. Koramangala is full of start-ups and young people, so we get a lot of that crowd coming in. They usually have specific ideas about what they want. We just listen and do the work. It’s not a fancy corporate place with a reception desk that looks like a hotel. It’s just a salon. We have some spa rooms in the back where it’s a bit quieter, away from the honking cars outside. We’ve had some of our stylists for years, and they’ve become like family. We don’t really do big promotions or anything. Most people just walk in because they’re getting petrol across the road and realize they need a haircut. We use everyday products and keep the place as clean as we can. It’s a lot of work running a business in Bangalore with the competition, but we just take it one customer at a time. No big slogans, just scissors and combs and a bit of conversation.
