Fathima Store

Fathima Store is out on Kanakapura Road in the Kaggalipura area. If you are driving out towards the hills or the resorts, you will likely pass right by us. It is a bit further out from the city center, so the air is a little cleaner, but the traffic can still be a nightmare on the weekends. This spot has been our home since before the road was widened. Our shop acts as a bit of a landmark for the people who live in the nearby villages. Stocking a bit of everything is necessary because there aren't many big supermarkets close by. It’s a general store where you can find daily essentials and some other bits and pieces. Most customers are known to us by name, and knowing what they are going to ask for before they even say it is just part of the day. The shelves stay packed, though sometimes things get a bit disorganized during the busy morning rush. A lot of time is spent talking to the suppliers who come down the highway. Since it is a family business, you will usually see one of us behind the counter from morning until we close at night. No fancy layout exists here. We just put things where they fit and make sure we have what people need. Life and work are simple, and that is enough for us. We just keep the doors open and see who the day brings in.
