Faculty Member

I am a faculty member working out of Mysore. You can find the place at 162 2 on 16th Cross, Ramanuja Road. It is an old part of the city, and it has a very specific feel to it. The streets are narrow, and there are always people walking around or parked scooters in the way. My workspace is pretty simple. It is basically just a room with some shelves for books and a desk that has seen better days. I spend most of my time preparing materials or meeting with people who need guidance. Mysore is a quiet place compared to Bangalore, and I like that. The pace is slower. I usually walk to work because it is close to where I stay. The building is an older style, so it stays relatively cool even when it is sunny outside. I don't have a big staff or any fancy equipment. It is just me and my notes. Sometimes the neighbor's dog barks a lot, but you get used to it after a while. I handle a lot of academic work and administrative things that come up. It is not the kind of job where you get rich, but it is steady. People know where to find me if they have questions. I have been on Ramanuja Road for a long time now. It feels like home. I just go in every morning, do my work, and head back in the evening. There is always some reading to catch up on.
