Eshwar Provision Stores

Eshwar Provision Stores is situated at 16/17 Sri Muneshwara Estate. Lavelle Road is a bit of a fancy area these days, but our corner in the 1st Stage feels a bit more grounded. I spend most of my time at the shop moving bags of rice or checking the dates on the bread. It is a small space, and sometimes it gets a bit cramped when two or three people come in at once. The floor is old stone, and I’ve tried to keep it clean, but people bring in a lot of dirt from the street. I don't use any fancy apps to track what we have; I just look at the shelves and see what is missing. Being in Sri Muneshwara Estate means we know most of the people who live nearby. They come in for their daily milk or some loose dal. The weather in Bangalore is usually okay, but when it rains, the water splashes a bit near the entrance, so I have to keep a mop handy. I spend my afternoons sitting on a small stool, waiting for the evening rush. It is not a job that ever really ends because there is always something to sweep or a shelf that needs straightening. We just keep the doors open and wait for the regulars to show up for their groceries. It is a quiet kind of life here on the side of Lavelle Road.
