At Elken International India Pvt Ltd, our place is located on Kasturba Road, taking up the first and second floors at number 13. It’s a decent enough building and having two floors gives us a bit of space to spread out our things. Downstairs is usually where the main action happens, while the second floor is a bit quieter for when we need to focus on the paperwork side of the business. We’ve been here for a while now and the commute is okay most days, though the road can get packed during the evening rush. We don't really have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. It’s just desks, some product samples, and a lot of boxes moving in and out. The team here is small and we all know each other’s habits by now. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking through the inventory lists to see what's coming from overseas. It gets a bit warm in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going and just get on with the tasks. People stop by sometimes to ask about what we distribute, and we just explain it as best as we can without any big sales pitch. It’s a steady job and we like the rhythm of it. Being right in the middle of this area means there is always something going on outside our windows. We just keep our heads down and do what needs doing.
