Dzire Beauty Saloon

I've been running this place at No.25, Marappa Garden for a few years now. Being on Church Road in JC Nagar means there is always noise from the street, but once you step inside, things get a bit quieter. Bangalore has changed a lot, but this corner of JC Nagar feels the same to me. I start the morning by cleaning the glass and checking the supplies. The chairs are old but comfortable. People from around the neighborhood walk in, usually from the nearby houses in the garden area. Some days it is very crowded and other days I just sit and watch the bikes go past on Church Road. It isn't a big fancy place with lots of staff. Usually, it's just a couple of us here making sure things are tidy. We use the same brands we’ve always used because they work. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait, but that’s just how it is in this part of the city. I know most of the people who come in by their first names. We talk about the weather or the price of vegetables while I work. It’s a simple life here in 560006. We don't have a big sign, just the one over the door. If you know the road, you can't miss us. It feels good to have a steady spot in a city that moves so fast.
