Ds Spicy Foods

We set up shop at 97 Kammavaripet, right along KR Road. It’s a busy stretch of pavement, and there is always something going on outside the door of Ds Spicy Foods. Inside, we focus on getting our food products ready for the day. Most of the time is spent in the kitchen area, which is small but functional. We have large pots and stoves that stay hot from early morning until late evening. The smell of frying oil and spices is everywhere. My brother handles the cooking while I take care of the bagging and the customers who come to the counter. KR Road has a lot of traffic, so we see many commuters stopping by in the evenings on their way home. We don't have much room for people to sit, so it's mostly a place where you grab what you need and go. The walls are a bit stained from the steam, and the floor can get slippery if we aren't careful with the cleaning. We buy our ingredients from the local market every couple of days to keep things moving. There isn't any fancy decor or comfortable chairs here. It's just a place where we work hard and hope the day goes by without any equipment breaking down. Sometimes the stove acts up and we have to spend an hour fixing it, which puts us behind. It's just part of the job here and we get through it.
