Dry Foods International

Our place is at No.-6, A Main in the Maruti Extension area. We are right near Sant School, so you can often hear the kids playing during their recess while we are working inside. We deal with dry foods, which involves a lot of sorting, checking, and packing. The warehouse space is filled with bags and boxes stacked up to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. We spend our days making sure everything is sealed up tight and ready to be moved out. It’s a very physical job, lots of walking back and forth across the concrete floor. We don’t use any fancy marketing tricks or have a polished front office. It’s just a workspace that smells like dried grains and spices. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time navigating the narrow streets around the school, so we have to coordinate things carefully. We have a small group of workers who are mostly from the neighborhood. We know each other well and it makes the long hours go by a bit faster. It’s not a complicated operation, but it requires a lot of attention to detail to make sure the bags are the right weight. We just show up every morning and get through the list of orders. It’s a steady way to live and we like being part of the local community here.
