Dream Parlour

Dream Parlour is situated right on Race Course Road in Bangalore. It is quite easy to spot because we are next to the Race Wood Hotel. That area gets very busy, especially when there is something going on at the race course. You can always hear the hum of traffic and people talking outside. The shop has been here for a while and we’ve seen the hotel next door change hands and the road get wider. Inside, we have the usual equipment. It’s not a massive space, so things can feel a bit tight when we have more than a couple of people in at once. I usually start the day by cleaning the mirrors and setting out the brushes. The afternoon sun can be quite strong on Race Course Road, so we often keep the blinds halfway down to keep the heat out. We get a mix of people coming in—some are staying at the hotel next door and others have been coming to us for years. It’s a fast-paced part of the city, but inside the shop, we try to just focus on the task at hand. The Race Course Road area has a lot of energy, and being right next to a hotel means there is always something happening. We just keep our heads down and do our work. It’s a honest way to spend the day.
