Diploma

Our place, which we just call Diploma, is tucked away behind the Big Mosque on Medar Street. We are right in Hassan, Karnataka. It’s a busy little area with a lot of people coming and going from the mosque and the shops nearby. Ramachandra H. L. is the one who mostly looks after things here. We have been in this spot for quite some time now. The building isn't very new and the street can get a bit crowded with parked bikes and people walking, but we like it here. We focus on teaching and helping people with their diploma work. It’s a very basic setup. We have some books and a place for students to sit and study. We don't have air conditioning or fancy furniture. It’s just a practical space for learning. Most of our students are from right here in Hassan. They find us because we are in such a central location behind the mosque. We don't do much in the way of advertising. We just open up in the morning and see who comes in. It’s a local business through and through. We know the neighbors on Medar Street and it feels like a community. We just keep doing what we’re doing, year after year, helping whoever walks through the door with their studies. Sometimes the rain makes the street a bit of a mess but we are always open anyway. We’ve got a good group of people here and we just take things one day at a time.
