Dhanalakshmi Traders

Dhanalakshmi Traders is sitting right at 229 R K Road in Hanumanth Nagar. We deal in wholesale goods, mostly dry groceries and pantry staples that people need in bulk. The shop is quite deep, and we have bags of rice and dal stacked almost to the roof. It’s a heavy job, moving those sacks around, so we all have strong backs. We use a small trolley for the biggest loads. The air is always a bit dusty from the grain, but we don't mind it much. We have a heavy wooden counter where we do all the weighing and billing. I use a big calculator with large buttons because it’s easier to hit them quickly. We’ve known most of our customers for years, since their kids were small. Now those kids come in to buy for their own families. It’s a nice feeling to be part of the community like that. We don't have any air conditioning, just a big pedestal fan that blows the papers around if we aren't careful. Sometimes the delivery van gets stuck in the narrow lane outside, and we have to help guide the driver out. We aren't doing anything fancy here. We just buy good quality stuff and sell it for a fair price. It’s been the same way since we first opened this place in Hanumanth Nagar and started serving the folks living on R K Road.
