This place is at 38 Dasarahalli Gadital in the Hadapsar area. We are right opposite the Shoot Building, which is a big landmark people use to find us. It’s a busy neighborhood with a lot of people moving in and out for work. We provide accommodation for guys who work in the nearby companies. The rooms are simple, just beds and some storage space for clothes. We try to keep the common areas clean, though it’s tough with so many people living together. There is a small kitchen area where people can heat up their food. We have been running this for a few years now. Most of the residents are young men who just moved to the city. It’s a practical setup, not a luxury hotel. We have a small register where we keep track of who is staying. Sometimes we sit outside in the evenings and talk about the day. The building is older, but it’s sturdy and serves the purpose. Water and electricity are the main things we look after every day. If something breaks, like a tap or a light bulb, we fix it as soon as we can. It’s a lived-in space that feels like a home for people who are far from their families. We don’t have fancy rules, just a few things to keep the peace between everyone. We make sure the gates are locked at night for safety.
