We are located near Kanak Bhavan at Geetanjali Nivas on Mulugund Road here in Gadag. It is a bit different from the big city offices. Things move a little slower here, which is not always a bad thing. Our building is easy to spot if you are heading down Mulugund Road. We have a small team, and most of us have grown up around this area. We know the people who walk in by their first names often enough. The office is pretty plain. We have a few desks, some old wooden cupboards for the files, and a couple of chairs for visitors. It is not air-conditioned like the fancy places, but we have good fans that keep the air moving during the heat. We spend our days dealing with whatever comes across the desk. It might be local farmers or shopkeepers from the town. We do not use a lot of big words or try to act like we are better than anyone else. We are just here to do a job. The dust from the road comes in sometimes, so we are always wiping down the desks and the equipment. It is a practical life. We have our tea brought in from the shop around the corner twice a day. That is usually when we catch up on the local news. We do not have any grand plans, just staying open and helping out the folks who need us. It is a quiet life in Gadag, and we are happy to be here.
