Down here in BTM 2nd Stage, things are always moving fast and the streets are never truly quiet. Our office on the 42nd Main is right in the middle of all that action. The 4th Cross is usually packed with people heading to the local shops or the nearby food joints during their lunch hour. The building we are in has been here for years, and you can tell by the way the stone stairs are worn down in the middle. Inside, we deal with the usual stuff like paperwork and phone calls that never seem to end. The walls have some scuff marks from where we moved the heavy filing cabinets around last summer. There is a small balcony where a couple of us go to get some air, though the view is mostly just more buildings and tangled power lines. Karnataka weather can be unpredictable, so we always keep a few umbrellas near the door just in case it pours. The floor is made of that old-fashioned stone that stays cool even when it is incredibly hot outside. We don't have a big neon sign out front, just the address written on the wall. It is a busy spot, and there is always someone coming in to ask for directions or looking for the bank. We just point them to the right desk and get on with the day’s work. It is a loud, messy, and very real part of Bangalore to be in.
