Living and working around Rajajinagar in Bangalore means you get used to the noise of the 4th Block pretty quickly. Our office is tucked away on 39 7th Main, right near the 46th Cross, which is a busy little intersection most of the time. The trees along the road drop leaves everywhere during the dry season, and someone is always out there sweeping the front step. Inside, it is mostly just a collection of old computers and desks that have seen better days. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture, just the basics that get the job done. The walls are painted a dull shade of off-white that hasn't been touched up in a long time. You can hear the scooters revving their engines outside all morning long. Sometimes the delivery guys get lost because the numbering on this block is a bit confusing to people who aren't from here, so we end up standing on the curb to wave them down. There’s a small kitchen area in the back where we keep the kettle and some biscuits for the afternoon break. It is not a large space, so we all know what everyone else is working on. The floor tiles are chipped in a couple of places near the front entrance. Most of us walk to work or take the bus since parking around here is a nightmare. It is just a regular day-to-day operation for us at Deutsche Bank in this part of Bangalore.
