Design Engineer

I’m Selvam.A and I run Design Engineer out of the Ramaiha Building in Bangalore. It’s number 27 on Poojamma Temple Road, right in the 1st Main G Cross area of Gorguntepalya. If you’ve ever been through this part of Bangalore, you know it stays pretty active. The office is just a room where I keep my equipment and books. It isn't a large firm with hundreds of employees. It’s more of a personal setup where I handle the engineering side of designs. There’s a lot of paper around and usually a half-empty coffee mug on my desk. I’ve lived and worked around here for years, so I know the local shops and the shortcuts to avoid the worst traffic. The building is older, but it serves its purpose. I don't spend money on fancy signs or shiny floors. I’d rather just focus on the calculations and making sure the drawings are accurate. People find me by word of mouth mostly. They come to the temple road, look for the Ramaiha Building, and head up. It’s a simple life. Sometimes the noise from the street is a bit much, but that’s just Bangalore for you. I keep the door open when it’s hot outside to get some air. I just do the work that needs doing and try to stay ahead of my deadlines. There’s no big corporate structure here, just me in my office making sure the numbers add up.
