We've been at 33D Balaji Nagar First Street in Royapettah for a while now. Davis Langdon Seah Consulting India Pvt Ltd is basically where we spend most of our daylight hours looking at project costs and handling the boring but necessary paperwork for construction. It’s not a fancy glass tower or anything like that. Just a regular office space in a busy part of Chennai. Usually, you’ll find a few of us hunched over desks with calculators and big drawings spread out everywhere. Sometimes the street outside gets a bit noisy with the bikes and the local traffic, but we’re used to it. We deal with numbers and building budgets mostly. If you walk past the building, it looks like any other spot on the street. Inside, it’s mostly just files and computers. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the long afternoons. It’s a job that requires a lot of focus, so it gets quiet in here when everyone is deep into a spreadsheet. We aren't trying to do anything flashy. We just make sure the math works for the projects we get. Being in Royapettah is handy because it’s central, even if finding parking can be a total headache sometimes. We’ve got a small team here, and most of us have been around for a good bit. We know the neighborhood well and the guy who sells snacks at the corner. That’s just how it is here at our Chennai branch.
