This is the local spot for Dalmia Cement (B) Ltd here in Bangalore. We are over at number 27 on Lakshmaiaha Reddy Road. If you know where A.Nanjappa Circle is or that old Adarsha Theatre in Ulsoor, then you’re pretty close. It’s a busy part of town, so things can get a bit loud with the traffic. Manoj Kumar is usually around handling the day-to-day stuff. We’ve got a lot of builders and contractors coming in and out because of all the construction happening in the city. The office is just a regular place where we sit and talk through orders. It’s nothing special to look at, just desks and stacks of papers. We spend a lot of time checking the delivery schedules because the Bangalore traffic makes everything take twice as long. We just try to get the cement out to the sites as best as we can. Sometimes we’re short-staffed, so we’re all doing a bit of everything, from answering the phone to checking the inventory. It’s a bit dusty, as you’d expect with cement, but we don’t mind. People stop by to ask about prices or just to see when the next truck is coming in. We’ve been in Ulsoor for a bit, so we know the neighborhood quite well. It’s a decent place to work and we just focus on the orders without making things complicated.
