D L R Roadways

We’ve been running D L R Roadways from this spot on Dickenson Road in Halasuru for a while now. It’s not a fancy setup, just a small office where we handle the truck bookings and keep track of where everything is going. The traffic around here can get pretty bad in the afternoons, but we manage to get the vehicles out on time mostly. Most of the day is just spent on the phone talking to drivers or checking on loads. It gets noisy with all the bikes and cars passing by outside 2/34. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know the routes well. Sometimes things get delayed because of rain or breakdowns, that’s just how the transport business works. We try to keep the paperwork straight so there aren't many headaches later on. People come in to ask about rates, and we just give them a fair price based on what the fuel costs are doing that week. It’s a lot of manual work, looking at logs and making sure the loaders know what they are doing. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. Some days are slow, others we don’t even have time to sit for lunch properly. It’s a simple life here, just making sure goods get from one place to another without too much trouble. We know the regular customers by name and they know where to find us.
